أطلُّ على الشارع من شرفة غرفتي، وإذا بجثة تكاد تكون سقطت من شاهق تفترش الرصيف. اجتمع الناس حولها بين متأسف ومسترجع وعابر سبيل غير مكترثٍ. نزلت للفور لأرى عن كثب. سرعان ما انفض الجمع ذعراً وكأن عاصفة كاسحة ما قادمة. تطلعت بالجثة أنه أنا. حاكيت نفسي: كيف أنا.؟ وها أنا.! واقف بكل كياني وجوارحي. أمعنت النظر بها، أنها تحمل كل تفاصيلي ما عدا ما خلفه الارتطام، جمجمة مهشمة، بطن مُفرَقعة، التواء الساقين والذراعين بشكل عكسي ولافت.. رجعت أتحسس وجهي، جسدي، أنا (صاغ سليم).. عدت أدراجي محلقاً بجناحين من الأسفلت.
