أحدث حلف بغداد انقساما فى وحدة الصف العربى ؛ بل أوجد حرباً عربية باردةً بين كل من مصر والعراق ، وإذا كانت الولايات المتحدة وبريطانيا تهدفان من قيام حلف بغداد درء خطر شيوعي محتمل الحدوث ، فإن رد الفعل لدى شعوب الدول العربية وخاصة مصر واليمن إزاء هذا الحلف هو الذى مكن الاتحاد السوفيتى من تخطيه إلى قلب الوطن العربى .
وتحاول هذه الدراسة إلقاء الضوء على الموقف اليمنى من حلف بغداد وإلى أى من الفريقين انضمت اليمن ، وكيف سيطرت سياسة المحاور على العالم العربى ، مما أدى إلى اشتعال الحرب العربية الباردة بين كل من مصر والعراق وما الموقف اليمنى منها ؟ ، كما تلقى الدراسة الضوء على كيف استطاع الاتحاد السوفيتى تخطى حدود حلف بغداد إلى داخل العالم العربى من خلال صفقة الأسلحة التشيكية لمصر ومعاهدة الصداقة اليمنية ؟ .
