كانت الثورة العراقية -فى 14 يوليو 1958- انفجارا مدويا أصاب منطقة الشرق الأوسط ، وهو ما دفع مختلف القوى الإقليمية والدولية الفاعلة إلى مراجعة حساباتها، وإعادة ترتيب أوراقها لتواجه الموقف الجديد الذى فرض على تلك المنطقة ، ولما كانت تركيا أقرب هذه القوى وأكثرها تأثرا بالموقف، فقد بادرت باتخاذ عدة إجراءات سريعة تهدف فى مجملها إلى إسقاط الجمهورية العراقية الوليدة وإعادة النظام الملكى مرة أخرى، ومن هذا المنطلق ، تحاول الدراسة رصد وتتبع الموقف التركى من قيام الجمهورية العراقية منذ وقوع الانقلاب العراقى فى 14 يوليو 1958 ، وحتى الاعتراف التركى بالجمهورية العراقية فى 31 يوليو 1958 ، وذلك من خلال عدة نقاط هى: محاولة التدخل التركى فى الثورة العراقية ، الموقف التركى تجاه الثورة من خلال حلف بغداد ، وأخيرا الموقف التركى تجاه الثورة العراقية من خلال حلف شمال الأطلنطى .
