كادت الأزمة اللبنانية عام 1958م تشعل الحرب في منطقة الشرق الأوسط بعدما خرجت عن نطاقها المحلي والإقليمي إلى النطاق الدولي، عندما تدخلت الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية فيها عسكريا، وقد تابع السودان حكومة وشعبا تطورات تلك الأزمة عبر مراحها المختلفة، وكان للخرطوم دور مؤثر فيها؛ حيث طرحت الحل النهائي لتلك الأزمة على الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة عبر المشروع العربي، ومن ثم تحاول الدراسة إلقاء الضوء على الموقف السوداني الرسمي والشعبي من تلك الأزمة من خلال عدة محاور: أسباب الأزمة اللبنانية، الأزمة اللبنانية في جامعة الدول العربية، الأزمة اللبنانية في مجلس الأمن. التدخل الأمريكي في لبنان. وأخيرا الأزمة اللبنانية في الجمعية العامة.
