- اعتلال الصحة:- تلك الحالة التي تجعل الطفل بحاجة إلى خدمات التربية الخاصة، وهي تشمل أي اضطراب أو مرض يتعرض له الطفل فيعوق نموه الجسمي أو العقلي أو الاجتماعي إلى أقصى قدر ممكن. وغالبا ما يستخدم هذا المصطلح مع الأمراض التي تؤدي إلى ضعف حيوية الفرد ونشاطه أو إلى تدهور صحته واعتلالها بشكل تدريجي في حالة أمراض القلب.
