- النَّعْت:- الصّفة (ج) نعوت وَيُقَال شَيْء نعت جيد بَالغ وَفرس نعت غَايَة فِي الْعتْق عَتيق سباق وَفُلَان نعت غَايَة فِي الرّفْعَة وَامْرَأَة نعتة غَايَة فِي الْجمال (المعجم الوسيط)
- النعت:- تابع يدلّ على معنى في متبوعه مطلقاً وبهذا القيد يخرج مثل ضربتُ زيداً قائماً وإن تُوُهِّمَ أنّه تابع يدلّ على معنى لكن لا يدلّ عليه مطلقاً بل حال صدور الفعل عنه (التعريفات للجرجاني)
