كان زياد قد توضأ، قبل دخوله إلى غرفتها تحسّبا للصلاة، أعطاها الحجر الصغير، وبدأ يعلمها كيفية التيمّم به، ثم شرح لها ما سيفعله وكيف ستتبعه هي، ثم قام مكبرا بعد أن ارتدت إسدال الصلاة، وصلى بها إماما، بينما تتبعه هي بحركات وانحناءات بسيطة، وهي تسمع صوته الشجي يرتل شيئا من القرآن، اقشعر له جسدها كلّه، عندما سلّمت بعده، رفع يديه إلى السماء يدعو ربه في صمت، وكان قد شرح لها أن تفعل مثله وتدعو بما تريده، فوجدت نفسها تبكي ودموعها تجري على خديها، غير قادرة على قول شيء، ثم ارتفعت شهقاتها فالتفت هو إليها مفزوعا، ونهض إليها مسرعا يسألها عن سبب بكائها، فأجابته بكلمات متقطعة، ودموع غزيرة:
ـ لا أعرف كيف أكلمه، لا أعرف ما أقول له
كان يريد لحظتها أن يضمّها إلى صدره، ويهدئ من روعها، كان يريد أن يخفيها داخل قلبه، ويأخذ كل وجعها وضياعها، لكنه لم يفعل شيئا، سوى أنه قال مستجمعا قدرته لإيجاد كلمات مناسبة:
ـ المهم أنك وصلت إليه، حدثيه بأي لغة تعرفينها، هو سيفهمك، حدثيه بقلبك إذا عجز لسانك، هو سيسمعك في كل الحالات،
سيفهمك وسيستجيب.
لم يعرف زياد، من أين أتته هذه الكلمات التي نزلت بلسما على قلبها، وتسببت في توقف دموعها، نظرت إليه نظرة امتنان وشكر، هي حتى الآن لم تشكره على ما فعله من أجلها، ابتسمت وهي تقول له:
ـ شكرا على إسدال الصلاة، وعلى حجر التيمم، شكرا على المصحف المترجم إلى اللغة الفرنسية، وشكرا لأنك عدت دائما إلى حياتي برغم كل تعقيداتها، شكرا لأنك هنا، شكرا لأنك أول من صلى بي وأخذ بيدي إلى الله.
