علماً من أهم العلوم البيولوجية وأكثرها ثراء ألا وهو علم وراثة العشائر ويشرح الارتباط بين علم وراثة العشائر والوراثة الكمية حيث يهتم كلا المجالين بالتكوين الوراثي للعشيرة، وحيث تمثل الصفات الكمية أهمية خاصة من الناحية الاقتصادية فإن الكتاب يتناول بالدراسة تأثير العوامل الوراثية والبيئية على الأنماط المظهرية للصفات الكمية وبعض الصفات الكَمِّية الهامة وكيفية تحليل نتائجها، والمكافئ الوراثي ومدى تأثيره على عملية الانتخاب ودراسة التوائم لتحديد المكافئ الوراثي. وبعد ذلك يتناول التكوين الوراثي للعشيرة من خلال اتزان هاردي – واينبرج وشروط هذا الاتزان وكيفية قياس التكرار الجيني وتكرار التراكيب الوراثية. ثم يتناول الكتاب تفصيليًّا العوامل المؤثرة على اتزان العشيرة مثل التربية الداخلية والانتخاب والانحراف الوراثي العشوائي وتأثير الهجرة والمؤسس والطفرات وكذلك دراسة التأثير على المستوى الجزيئي، وتأثير كل من العوامل السابقة على إحداث قوى تطورية بالعشيرة. ويحتوي الكتاب أيضاً على معجم علمي باللغة الإنجليزية ومسرد للمصطلحات العلمية وكثير من الصور والأشكال التوضيحية. إن هذا الكتاب يعتبر إنجازاً علميًّا على مستوى الوطن العربي لأنه خلاصة ترجمة مئات من الأبحاث والكتب العلمية في هذا المجال ونرجو من الله العلي القدير أن يثيبنا الأجر عليه وأن يكون بحق منارة للعلم لكل الدارسين في هذا المجال.
