"عندما استقر بهامته فوق الصخر كانت جلسته كجلسة عجوز متسكع عند باب مسجد يطلب الشفقة من الآخرين، ما أتعس أن يجلس المتسكع عند باب المسجد ويمد يده وينتهي كل شيء وتبقى يده خالية وتعود يده مرة أخرى إلى جيبه ويرحل، هذا ما خطر له وهو جالس فوق كومة الصخر. منحني الظهر، منكس الرأس، ممسك بيده عصا يريد أن يضرب أي شيء، لكن لم يجد غير دموعه المنهمرة من عينيه الغارقتين في نهر من الحزن. كانت كل دمعة تلتصق بالتراب سرعان ما يمحوها من التراب ويخفي معالمها ليجف مكانها".
في تجربة أميرة عبد المحسن تجاوز للتقليدي في كتابة القصة القصيرة، وقد أوغلت في تجربتها لإدخال اليومي الرتيب في كلمات تحاول بها نقد الذات وتجريد الممارسات الضائعة. والكاتبة التي حصلت على جوائز متعددة في تجاربها يبدو أنها تمتلك الكثير الذي ستقدمه بعد هذه التجربة.
