تضم المجموعة ثلاث عشرة قصيدة يراوح فيها أمجد ريان بين لغة وايقاع المشهد اليومي السريع المتواتر، وبين استعارة لحظات خاصة من طفولته، ومرايا أصدقائه الذين رحلوا تحت وطأة الحياة وفوضاها. وتتخفف القصائد إلى حد كبير من الانشغال بالمجاز وتداعياته البلاغية القديمة، وتسعى في الوقت نفسه الى بلورة بديل آخر له بتكثيف أجواء الدراما، واعتماد دلالات المفارقة في بناء الصورة والمشهد الشعريين في سياق لغة تمزج بين الحسي والمجرد وتستفيد من المونتاج السينمائي في التوزع الزمني بين الماضي والحاضر. من أجواء الديوان: في الاضاءة الخفيفة كان السلم الملفوف نازلاً من الدور الأعلى حتى الدور السفلى وتحته البيانو القديم المغلق وأنا أمدد جسدي يائساً
