كتاب نور تأليف يوسف زيدان هو رواية من النوع المونودرامى إذ تدور أحداثها فى فلك شخص واحد يسرد للقارئ الأحداث من خلال وجهة نظره وتفاعله مع باقى الشخصيات المحيطة فلا قصص موازية تتقاطع أو تتشابك مع الخط الرئيسى إنما هى جميعها خيوط تتفرع من البطل وتعود إليه. والراوى هنا هى (نورا) بطلة الرواية التى عرفها القارئ فى الجزأين السابقين تلك الفتاة الجامعية السكندرية المرحة المنطلقة التى يعود المؤلف ليقدمها للقارئ وقد صارت أما لطفلة صغيرة تحمل الرواية اسمها (نور). تسير المائة صفحة الأولى من الرواية وسط أطلال الماضى حيث تسترجع (نورا) قصتها مع الفتى النوبى (محمد) الذى وهبته أغلى ما تملك وتعمدت أن تغرس بذرته فى رحمها قبل أن تتزوج مقهورة من رجل ليبى الجنسية بسبب ظروفها العائلية والمالية ويغادر هو مصر.
