شريف حتاتة مواليد 9/13 /1923 هو طبيب وكاتب وروائي ماركسي وعضو الأمانه العامه بحزب التحالف الشعبى الاشتراكي، كان متزوج من الدكتورة نوال السعداوي، متزوج الآن من الكاتبة والناقدة السينمائية أمل الجمل.

يطلّ علينا من الدكتور يوسف زيدان، برواية جديدة باسم "نور"، وهي المتممة للثلاثية الروائية "محال / جونتنامو"، حيث يوضح زيدان أنه كتاب عبارة عن فقرات مكتوبة بلغة شعرية تناقش بعض الموضوعات المختلفة، وليست رواية لها أحداث وأشخاص.
ويوسف زيدان، كاتب وفيلسوف مصري، متخصص في التراث العربي المخطوط وعلومه، له عدة مؤلفات وأبحاث علمية في الفكر الإسلامي والتصوف وتاريخ الطب العربي، وله إسهام أدبي في أعمال روائية منشورة، وله مقالات دورية وغير دورية في عدد من الصحف العربية. عمل مستشاراً في مكتبة الإسكندرية.
أخرج يوسف زيدان العديد من المؤلفات في مجالات متعددة يتصل جلها بالتراث العربي. وتتوزع أعماله على فروع التصوف الإسلامي والفلسفة الإسلامية وتاريخ العلوم العربية والنقد الأدبي وفهرسة المخطوطات العربية.
