فالآمال عديدة، والتطلعات مديدة، وصيادو الأحلام متربصون، لا يرقبون في طامح إلاَّ ولا ذمَّة، يرضونه بالقول، وقلوبهم مفعمة بالخبث، حتى إذا ما تمكّنوا من المثابر والنشيط رأيتهم ابتعلوا جهده، وتركوه فريسة الآلام وطريدة الحيتان.
هذا الكتاب جاء ليعري هذا النموذج السرطاني البشع الذي أصبح وجوده مرئياً للعيان بكثرة، وخطره يهدد الأمن الإجتماعي، والسلامة الأخلاقية.
بدأت فكرة إعداد هذا الكتاب من رئيس مجلس إدارة شركة دار غار حراء الذي عايش الحياة، وعاين الشدائد، وخالط الناس، ولمس كثير من أساليب نفاقهم، فعرض الفكرة على اللجنة العلمية للدار، وبدأ الإعداد، وكانت المتابعة والإشراف من الدكتور علاء الدين زعتري الذي كان له الفضل في إنجاز هذا العمل وإتمامه.
