في جديده الشعري "نفاث" يرتكز الشاعر علي المخمري على مقاربة (فلسفية – تأملية) يرصد من خلالها حركة العناصر التي تعود إلى التكوين الأول للوجود، مستبطناً الدلالات فيما وراء معاني عصية على التفسير، الروح، النفس، الموت، الحياة، وكل ما يمت إلى حياة الإنسان بصلة. نقرأ له قصيدة بعنوان (أنا) وقد افتتح بها مجموعته الشعرية هذه:
"ولدت بالشارع الخلفي / في ظل صغير / ثم أرضعتني الشمس ، حتى احترق لساني / وها أنا ألثغ بمحبة صافية / دون أن يفهمني المارة".
وعلى هذا المنوال يسكن الشاعر بروحه عالم التأمل لترقى الروح بموسيقى سلالمها إلى عالم آخر هو المثال بالنسبة للشاعر وكأنه يريد الإبتعاد عن كل ما هو دنيوي إلى عالم أسمى يزيح عن كاهله متاهات هذا العالم وحروبه وخساراته "الخسارة مسترسلة / على الأكتاف / أمامي أبدية غُرابٍ / ثعالب تخطف اللقمة / من الأفواه / أنقل أطفالي / من ظلٍّ إلى ظل / دون أن يتراءى / لي الماءُ / وأحفر في رأس الليل / لأدفن ما تبقى من أسئلة". بهذه الروح يبرع الشاعر المخمري في تأثيث نصوصه، ويؤسس لخطابه الشعري المتفرد ...
يضم الكتاب قصائد متنوعة في الشعر العربي الحديث تراوحت بين الطول والقصر نذكر من عناوينها: "أنا" ، "فقدان" ، "إستغلال" ، "العالم" ، "تمييز" ، "قشعريرة" ، "الفكرة" ، "مباغتة" (...) الخ.
