"ونادجا" هي قصّةٌ ذات طابع سير ذاتيّ، يدور جزءٌ كبير منها حول علاقة بريتون بإمرأةٍ شابّة، هي ليونا ديلكور، التي كانت تُسَمّي نفسها نادجا (وكان الكاتب قد التقاها بباريس، في بدايات أكتوبر 1926)، وتنتهي بــ"التّغنّي" بعلاقة عِشقيّة جديدة، كانتْ قد جمعته مع إمرأة تُسمّى سوزان ميزار.
ومن أهمّ وأجمل الدّراسات التي كُتِبتْ عن بريتون، كتاب مارغريت بُونّي: "أندري بريتون والمغامرة السّورّيالية" (جوزي كورتي، 1975، طبعة جديدة: 1988)، قالت مارغريت بونّي عن أندري بريتون: "لم يكنْ لِرَجُل الإستقصاء هذا قطُّ ميلٌ للقيام بأسفار إلى مناطق بعيدة، ففيما يخصّ التِّيه، كانت المدينة وشوارعُها كافيةً لبريتون، كان رجل سفرٍ داخلي، وبقي بالأساس مُقيماً [لا مترحّلا]، وأرْضِيَّاً، فــ"المغامرة الذّهنية الكبرى"، هي التي كان يهمّه القيام بها".
