يتفنّن مرتضى كزار في تدويخ قارئهِ بلذة البحث عن خيوط الحكاية هنا وهناك، حتى تجتمع ثوباً زاهياً في النهاية، فحكايات مرتضى كزار ترفض الكشف عن نفسها منذ البداية، هذا الكشف الذي يسبب الملل، وهو ما يخافه كزار، ويسعى جهده أن يجنبَ قارئه الملل. في النهاية ستفهم حكاية مكنسة الجنة هذهِ الشجرة العطرة التي كان غويلي العبد يصنع منها المكانس، وهو هارب من الجيش البريطاني ثم قتل واخفت جثته الرائحة العطرة للشجيرة. تحول قبر غويلي الى ضريح شوفان الي حبل الافندي، والافندي هو جودت مكنزي الكاتب الذي كتب يفند حكاية الضريح، ثم مات بانتفاخ بطنه بورم فصارت تلك دلالة على شارة صاحب الضريح. بين العائلة التي تسكن في الضريح ملاية وزوجها حياوي وولديهما مدين ووداد سترتبط وشائج الى الابد مع ابن جودت مكنزي رمزي الرسام وراوي الحكاية. قصة ممتعة، تحمل الكثير من الحكايات والكثير من الدوار، من بدايات مرتضى كزار الموفقة، مع يقيني بتجاوزه بعض الهفوات في هذهِ الرواية في اعماله اللاحقة.
