مقاصد الفلاسفة لحجة الإسلام الغزالي، مقدمة لكتابه الثاني (تهافت الفلاسفة) الذي عرض فيه لتناقض آرائهم ومكامن تلبيسهم وإغوائهم. لكنه أراد قبل الشروع في ذلك بأن يعرف القارئ بمذاهب الفلاسفة، ومعتقدهم لأنه يرى أن الوقوف على فساد المذاهب قبل الإحاطة بمداركها محال، بل هو رمي في العماية والضلال.
يحكي الغزالي في (مقاصد الفلاسفة) مقاصدهم من علومهم المنطقية والطبيعية والإلهية من غير أن يتدخل أو يميز بين الحق منها والباطل. وقصده من ذلك تفهيم غاية كلامهم دون أن يسهب في الكلام عما هو غير ضروري أو جوهري في مذاهبهم. ويشير الغزالي في هذا الكتاب إلى أن علوم الفلاسفة أربعة أقسام: الرياضيات، المنطقيات، الطبيعيات، الإلهيات، حيث يعرض من ثم كل قسم من هذه الأقسام الأربعة بالتفصيل.
