ناصر الحلواني، في يقيني، مبدع له باع في ساحة القصة ـ القصيدة. قصائده القصصية القصيرة إبداعات بصرية أساسا، هذا القصاص قادر على أن يضفي قيمة بصرية على العبق والنكهة، على الحسي والعضوي، ولكن القيم الجمالية عنده تتبادل المواقع في وقت معا، فيحل اللمس محل الرؤية، والقبض بملء اليدين محل التمعن بالنظر، ولكن الحياد البصري الدقيق عنده إنما ينم عن شغف، بل ولع، بل عشق للأشياء والكائنات.
غموض الحس عنده، وانبهام الأشياء، يشف في النهاية عن تدفق للعضوية والخصوبة المكنونة تحت جفاف، بل تزهد الكلمات، ونسك العبارات.
الواقعي عنده مضفور ضفرا محكما بالحلمي، والسرد القصصي تخامره أنفاس الشعر، واليومي العادي لا ينفصم عن السيريالي.
صوره منمنمة ودقيقة ومضبوطة، في الغالب، على النغمة الصحيحة تمام الصحة، دون اختلال.
عنده لغة تنتمي إلى التصوف إنتماء أصيلا، كما تنبثق من بصر بالعربية، ومعرفة بالشعر.
ومفرداته من مادة العالم منتقاة على نسق مرهف، تتجاوب ألوانه، بعضها مع بعض، بموسيقية خفية.
هو شاعر القصة القصيرة الحداثية.
