هذا الكتاب مختصر لطيف يجمع فيه مؤلفه شتيت مسائل الأوقاف، ويفصل ما اشتملت عليه مواضع الإتفاق والإختلاف. بعبارة لا يقصر عن إدراكها فهم المتعلم، ولا يأنف أن يعنى بها المعلم، عمل فيه على تذليل الصعوبات الفنية، وتقريب العبارات الإصطلاحية، حتى وصل إلينا حاوياً من النقول ما عليه الفتوى والإعتماد سماه "مباحث الوقف". وعلى هذا يشتمل الكتاب على عدة مباحث أولية في الوقف وهي: التعريف، والأقسام، والركن، والشرط، والصفة، والحكم وبعد ذلك يأتي مسائله. يستند الكتاب إلى الأصول الشرعية للوقف أي القرآن الكريم والسنة النبوية والإجماع وهي بمضمونها تحث على أعمال الخير والبر والإحسان بين الناس، وبها يتقرب المسلم إلى ربه كقوله تعالى "يا أيها الذين آمنوا اتقوا الله وابتغوا إليه الوسيلة".
وفي هذا الكتاب شرح مفصل لشرائط الوقف، وحكمه، وما لا يجوز بيعه من الوقف وما لا يجوز، وفي البناء والغرس في أرض الوقف، والأحوال التي يجوز للقاضي فيها مخالفة شرط الواقف، وفي ضمان الناظر الوقف وغلته وعدم ضمانه، وقبول الوقف ورده، والمزارعة، والمساواة وحق المنفعة إلى آخرذلك من مسائل الأوقاف.
