”جميلة بتحب تبدل الحروف. وبتسمي دا كسر الكلمات. بتخلي الهوا دوا، والليل خيل، وبكدا نبقى: كلنا في الدوا سوا، وخيل المحب طويل. وغير كدا اخترعنا لغة الأڤْوَرَة. فلوس اسمها فلوس بتبوس. وما فيش حاجة اسمها لف سيجارة، لازم تقول: لف سيجارة في الحارة.
مجموعة من الأصدقاء في عمر المراهقة، تفرقهم ميولهم وأصولهم ورؤيتهم للحياة، وتجمعهم الحياة في ألمانيا، ويربطهم الشغف لاكتشاف الحب، ومواجهة السأم بالتصرفات الجنونية. يفككون اللغة، يعيدون إنتاج علاقتهم بالـ "كوكب"، ويكتشفون الفارق بين الجنس والعاطفة، وبين الحب والتجربة. لكن الأمواج الهائلة التي أتت بهم إلى ألمانيا من بلاد وقوميات متباينة، سرعان ما تثور بداخلهم فتطيح بذلك الإندماج الهش في المجتمع الغربي المنفتح، وتعيدهم من جديد –بطريقة أو بأخرى- إلى أصولهم. ربما لا يمكننا الفكاك من الوطن، ولا الهرب من الدماء التي تسري تحت جلودنا.
في إيقاع سريع، وسرد لا تنقصه الجرأة، ولهجة عامية سلسة، تبحث الكاتبة عن التفاصيل التي تجمع البشر، وتلك التي تفرقهم، لتكتشف أنهم يشتركون في الجريمة ذاتها، التي يقع الجميع في أسرها، مما يضطرهم إلى مواجهة ذواتهم التي لا يعرفونها. وتصل في النهاية إلى أن "دنيا الله قد أصابها العفن".“
