هذا الكتاب ليس إلا تطبيقا عمليا لعلوم المنطق ، الذي وضعه الفلاسفة الأولون ،حيث كان سقراط يحاور السفسطائيين ويتغلب بفطرنه السليمة عليهم باتباع نهج مبتكر، اظهره فيما بعد أرسطو كعلم للتفكير وهو المنطق، فوجد احتمالات فكرية كثيرة بعضها صادق وصحيح وبعضها خاطئ وغير مصيب واسموها المغاللطات ، التي هي على نهج احتمالات القضايا المنطقية الصادقة، لذلك كانت تخفى على الكثيرين فتوقعهم بالخطأ .
وهذا الكتاب مقسوم إلى قسمين الأول يتكلم عن قواعد الصواب بعيدا عن مصلحات الفلسفة، ومشروحة بعرض قضايا ملموسة تؤدي بالضرورة إلى الصواب ، بينما القسم الثاني يقوم بتقديم اساليب التفكير الخاطئة من خلال عرض مشكلات حياتية نمارسها ولا ندري انها تؤدي إلى الخطأ
هذا الكتاب مكونمن أربع وخمسين قضية فكرية ، توضح اين يكون الخطأ وأين يكون الصواب
انها مقالات تنويرية بلغة بسيطة وعبارات مفهومة وقضايا ملموسة
