بعد السلم و غرفة المطبخ ، خروجا الى البوابة يوجد على اليمين حمام صغير يستعمله كل سكان الحوش ، ولا يسمح فى هذا الحمام الا لشخص واحد فقط بالاستحمام فيه و حتى باجور الجاز الذى يستعمل لتسخين الماء فى الشتاء ، لا يوجدله مكان فى الحمام ، ولكن يوضع باجور الجاز خارج الحمام فى الحوش وفوقه صافيحة الجبنة البيضاء المملؤة بالماء للتسخين ، والباجور يزن بصوت عالى ، كاسرا صمت الليل فى الشتاء، معلنا لكل سكان البيت الذين يدخل عليهم الصوت من شبابيك شققهم التى تطل على الحوش مباشرة ويخترقها صوت الباجور أن الدنيا حتى الان بخير ، على الاقل فى الحوش ، قصة طفلين يتيمين فرقتهم الحياة ثم جمعتهما.
