مُترجمة بحكم المهنة وكاتبة بحكم الرغبة! علا عليوات كاتبة أردنية من مواليد 1984.
تخرجت من الجامعة الأردنية تخصص اللغتين الإسبانية والإنجليزية عام 2006 وتعمل منذ تخرجها كمترجمة.
بدأت تنشر القصص القصيرة والمقالات على مدونتها في العام 2005.
أصدرت رواية "قبل السفر" عام 2012 ومجموعة قصص قصيرة باللغة الإنجليزية بعنوان Small Lives عام 2013 ورواية "رَصَد" عام 2017.
تكتب في مجال الأدب والثقافة والقضايا الاجتماعية، خاصة المتعلقة بالمرأة.

عمّان، كأي مدينة وكأي وطن، قد تقسو علينا أحياناً وتضيق بنا أرضها بما رحبت، فلا نرى بداً من الرحيل، إلا أننا نتوقف لحظة، ننظر إلى الوراء ونفكر، نتذكر... نتردد ثم نتساءل: هل ظلمناها بهجرنا لها أم هي من هجرتنا أولاً؟
