مُترجمة بحكم المهنة وكاتبة بحكم الرغبة! علا عليوات كاتبة أردنية من مواليد 1984.
تخرجت من الجامعة الأردنية تخصص اللغتين الإسبانية والإنجليزية عام 2006 وتعمل منذ تخرجها كمترجمة.
بدأت تنشر القصص القصيرة والمقالات على مدونتها في العام 2005.
أصدرت رواية "قبل السفر" عام 2012 ومجموعة قصص قصيرة باللغة الإنجليزية بعنوان Small Lives عام 2013 ورواية "رَصَد" عام 2017.
تكتب في مجال الأدب والثقافة والقضايا الاجتماعية، خاصة المتعلقة بالمرأة.

مجموعة نصوص على شكل رسائل لن تصل إلى غايتها، أرسلها أشخاص عشوائيون إلى أشخاص -أو أشياء- مختلفة: فهذا أحدهم يرسل رسالة إلى أينشتاين، وإحداهنّ ترسل رسالة إلى أولادها الذين لم يولدوا بعد، وأخرى إلى ابنتها المفقودة منذ سنوات. عجوز على عتبات الموت يكتب رسالة لعكازه، فيما ترسل امرأة رسالة إلى الموت نفسه تستعجله بالقدوم، وغيرهم من المهووسين بأشخاص حقيقيين أو متخيلين، يكتبون لهم سواء وصلت الرسالة أو لم تصل. كل رسالة أشبه بقصة قصيرة تُروى بصيغة المخاطَب، وتُعالج همومًا وقضايا إنسانية مشتركة من خلال أفراد يعبرون عن هواجسهم وأحلامهم، على اختلاف أجناسهم وخلفياتهم.
