هذا الكتاب، من بين جميع الكتب الفلسفية والروحية التي ألّفتها، هو بكل تأكيد أسهلها منالاً، لكنه بلا ريب أكثرها فائدة أيضاً، فأنا لم أحاول أن انقل إلى القارئ علماً نظرياً، إنما معرفة عملية تُعتبر من أشد المعارف أهمية وضرورة، يمكن إيجازها بالسؤال الآتي: كيف يتسنى للمرء أن يعيش حياة صالحة وسعيدة في إنسجام تام مع نفسه ومع الآخرين؟.
ما أقوله هنا بكلمات بسيطة وأمثلة واقعية، على غرار حديث يدور بيني وبين صديق، هو ثمرة ثلاثين سنة من الأبحاث والتجارب.
