"أنا فتاة اسمها فتنة وصلت إلى هذه الدنيا بواسطة أب سعودي وأم قطرية، كما أنني لست كباقي الفتيات. ربما ظاهرياً أبدو كذلك، أما داخلياً فلا، ففي داخلي توجد فجوة خلقها طلاق أبي من أمي وخلقتها القبيلة، خلقها هذا المجتمع المريض وهذه العائلة المحافظة، خلقتها العادات والتقاليد البالية، خلقتها كلمة عيب وكلمة حرام. فجوة لعينة جعلتني، ومنذ وعيت هذه الدنيا، أدور في فراغ سادي وأسير بخطىً متعثرة في طريق مظلم يؤدي بي دائماً إلى لا شيء!.
أنا في الواقع لا أملك حياة، لا أملك مبدأ، لا أملك هدفاً، لا أملك شيئاً على الإطلاق. لا أملك سوى هذه القصة والتي لم أكن أنوي كتابتها لولا تدخل صديقتي أميرة القحطاني، والتي حثتني على الكتابة للخروج من حالة البؤس التي أعيشها فقد أقنعتني بأن المتنفس الحقيقي والوحيد للإنسان هو "الحرف" وقد بدأت أدوّن حكايتي أثناء رحلتي إلى الحج، وهذا أمر غريب بعض الشيء، ولكن لو نظرتم إلى حياتي فلن تستغربوا أي شيء أفعله. وبغض النظر عن هذه المقدمة المُؤَلّفة، أنا الآن عزيزي القارئ بين يديك ولك حرية الاختيار، أما أن ترافقني الرحلة، وإما أن تعيدني إلى رفوف المكتبة".
