ظلت تويفا ميزار طيلة أحداث الرواية, ترزح تحت نير تناقض ثقيل؛ هو التناقض بين الحقائق الأركيولوجية الأكيدة التي تؤمن بها وتدرسها في الجامعة, وبين الخرافات التوراتية التلمودية التي تفرضها عليها أجواء أسرتها, وتربت عليها منذ نعومة أظافرها، إذاً هو تناقض بين قناعاتها العلمية, وقناعات عائلتها المتطرفة الدموية.
تعرضت تويفا لإرهاب فكري فظيع, مارسه ضدها أفراد العائلة. وتعرضت لإرهاب من نوع آخر, تمثل في قيام والدها بإجهاض قصة الحب الجميلة التي عاشتها مع الشاب العربي.
تؤمن تويفا أن اليهود ليس لهم أي حق تاريخي في أرض فلسطين, لأنهم جاؤوا إليها متأخرين. فالفلسطينيون القدماء سكنوا هذه الأرض قبل اليهود بآلاف كثيرة من السنين, وشيدوا فيها (أريحا) أول مدائن الدنيا, وأقاموا الحضارتين النطوفية والكبارية.
كانت تويفا في هذه الرواية إجمالاً, وكأنها تتحدث بلسان روجيه جارودي في كتابه (الأساطير المؤسسة للسياسة الإسرائيلية), وكأنها تتحدث بلسان شلومو ساند في كتابه (اختراع الشعب اليهودي).
