كلما زادت معدلات الجرمية أو تغيرت أنماطها، كلما ازدادت الحاجة إلى إجراء المزيد من الدراسات التي تستهدف التعرف على الجريمة وطبيعتها وأنواعها والعوامل المؤثرة في نشأتها سواء أكانت عوامل بيولوجية أو فسيولوجية أو كيميائية أو وراثية؛ أم كانت عوامل نابعة من البيئة التي يعيش فيها الفرد. ولا شك أن الجريمة تتأثر بالحالة العقلية للمجرم ومبلغ تمتعه بالصحة العقلية والنفسية، أو مقدار تخلفه العقلي وذلك إلى جانب العوامل السياسية والاقتصادية والجغرافية والسكانية. فالجريمة هي محصلة التفاعل بين عدد كبير من العوامل من بينها الجنون أم المرض العقلي الحاد. وكلما أحكم المجتمع فهم السلوك الإجرامي، كلما تمكن من إحكام السيطرة عليه وضبطه والوقاية منه ومكافحته. تلك المكافحة التي أصبحت تعتمد على العلم والمنهج العلمي وتقنياته وعلى الاستفادة من منجزات علوم الطب وعلم النفس وعلم الإنسان وعلم الحياة والوراثة وكافة فروع المعرفة. ولا شك أن إحدى طرق المقاومة أو المكافحة هي تلك التي تعتمد على نشر العلم والوعي والثقافة وترسيخ قواعد الدين الإسلامي الحنيف، وبسط المبادئ الأخلاقية وتنمية ضمائر الناس وبسط العدل والإنصاف في إعطاء كل ذي حق حقه. ضمن هذه المناخات يأتي البحث في هذا الكتاب حول علاج المجرمين. وقد اهتم المؤلف وبعد بحثه في الجوانب العلمية لمسببات الجريمة والتي يكون مبعثها الانحرافات السلوكية في الشخصية، والمؤثرات البيئية العائلية والاجتماعية والإعلامية وو... يوضح المؤلف السبل إلى معالجة تلك الشخصيات الإنسانية المنحرفة وذلك من خلال مبادئ الدين الإسلامي الحنيف، مشبعاً ذلك الجانب وفي ناحيته العلمية دراسة، ومن ناحيته الإيمانية النفسية بحثاً وذلك ضمن أسلوب علمي تحليلي موضوعي، ينأى عن المبالغة، ويقترب أكثر وأكثر من العقلانية والموضوعية البحتة.
