كثرت الحكايات والقصص عن السامري وعجله وكيف صنعه حتى أن بعضهم يبالغ في قدرة السامري وما أنجزه وكذلك في عصا موسى أيضاً اختلفت الروايات كما اختلفت آراء المفسرين وعلماء الدين في كيفية وصول العصا الى سيدنا موسى. فرأيت أن أدمج موضوع العصا وعجل السامري في هذا الكتاب مبيناً أغلب الحكايات التي وردت والآراء المتباينة فيهما.
أخذت المعلومات من مفسري الآيات الخاصة بالموضوعين وكذلك مما توفر على الشبكة العنكبوتية من مقالات مشيراً الى كتّابها.
جئت بالآيات من القرآن الكريم ووضعت لها تفسيراً من كتب المفسرين المدرجة في المراجع في نهاية الكتاب واعراباً من كتب ( اعراب القرآن وبيانه) لمؤلفه محيي الدين بن أحمد مصطفى درويش، ومن (الجدول في اعراب القرآن) لمؤلفه محمود بن عبد الرحيم صافي، ومن كتاب ( اعراب القرآن الكريم) لمؤلفيه أحمد عبيد الدعاس- أحمد محمد حميدان - إسماعيل محمود القاسم.
