فريجتوف كابرا هو فيزيائي وفيلسوف أمريكي معاصر من أصل نمساوي، كتابه طاو الفيزياء The Tao of Physics يعتبر من أهم مؤلفاته في حقل الابستيمولوجيا وفلسفة العلوم، إضافة إلى محاولة توحيده بين التيارات الفلسفية التي ظهرت في المشرق، كالطاوية الكونفوشوسية البوذية والبراهمانية من جهة، والفلسفة الغربية ذات الطابع العلمي التجريبي الدقيق الصارم من جهة ثانية. البعض يرى أن كتابه يدعم العلم الزائف pseudoscience ولو كان كذلك، لما تجشمت أدنى عناء لترجمة كتابه من أجل اثراء المكتبة العربية لما فيه من فائدة عظيمة للقراء والباحثين في تاريخ الفلسفة والأديان، علم المنطق والابستمولوجيا.
اثناء ترجمتي للكتاب لاحظت وجود مصطلحات وأسماء كثيرة لم يعرفها الكاتب، فرأيت لزاما شرحها في الهوامش لكي تتضح المعلومات في ذهن القارئ. لذلك أضفت هوامش عديدة في ثنايا الكتاب إلى جانب هوامش المؤلف.
