الكتاب لا يخاطب المختصين الفيزيائيين بإعتبارهم مسؤولين عن كارثة سوف تتحقق إن ظلت العلوم قابعة تحت سيطرة الإقتصاد السياسي، بحيث يتمكن أي أحمق غني ان يسخر المكتشفات والإختراعات العلمية إلى سلع إستهلاكية لتحقيق الربح.
إن الكتاب هو - بإيجاز - مخاطبة للضمير البشري لدى أي شخص، وعلى الأخص العلماء، لوقف قطار الكارثة المتجه إلى الهاوية، وبمعنى آخر إن العلم يعترف بأنه مُسخّر لحضارة ذكورية تقوم على السلب والملكية الخاصة والعدوان، فليس غرض الكتاب من تقديم آخر ما توصلت إليه الفيزياء الحديثة، ثم الفيزياء الجديدة، إلا التوعية، توعية البشر لهذا الإتجاه الذي يسير فيه الإقتصاد السياسي: تشويه الوجود الفيزيائي وبالتالي الوجود الإنساني، أي الوجود الروحي للإنسان، وليس غرضه جعل القارئ العادي مختصاً بالفيزياء.
يؤكدّ هذا الكتاب آخر ما توصلت إليه الفيزياء الحديثة الجديدة من أنه لا شيء يتمتع بإستقلال، وأن هناك كونية من العلاقات، وأن هذه العلاقات تقوم على الإعتماد المتبادل، وهي ناجمة من طبيعة الأشياء الكونية وليست منزقلة عليها أو قادمة إليها من عالم مستقل غير العالم الفيزيائي.
وقد عبر الفيزيائيون عن ذلك بإسم "التعضيد الذاتي" حيث تلعب النفاذية الدور الأول والأخير في النظرة العالمية الجديدة للفيزيائيين.
