"إن كنت احتضر، فكيف أتذكر هذا كله!؟ وهل للمحتضر ذاكرة وآمال!؟" ولما استيقظت في المستشفى لم أكد أصدق أنني لا أزال حياً... كنت لا أزال في الغيبوبة-الحلم-العدم. ويا لها من لحظات!". كان يتكلم وهو يحتضن طفلته بثينة ذات الأعوام الثلاثة وكأنه لا يزال يحيا تلك اللحظات العابرة الخارقة من عمره...
قال الكاتب العجوز غازي أبو جميل: "في عمر كل منا لحظات من هذا الطراز، قد تمر مرة أو أكثر في العمر. لحظات يتكثف بها، كما قلت، كل شيء فإذا ببضع قطرات منتقاة تمثل النهر بكل مسيرته وتعرجاته.. وهؤلاء المسافرون على طائرة تهوي فجأة نحو الموت: ماذا يفكر كل منهم في اللحظات الأخيرة وقد أدرك قرب الفاجعة!؟ ما هي آخر الأفكار التي تخامرهم وآخر الصور التي تتمايل أمامهم!؟".
