رواية تتناول الأوضاع الاجتماعية والسياسية والاقتصادية في ليبيا قبل أحداث التغيير السياسي في فبراير 2011 وخلالها وبعدها، والأسباب التي أدت إلى هذا التغيير العنيف وما نتج عنه من فوضى وتدخل أجنبي وشقاق مجتمعي عميق، وتصف حقيقة المجتمع والعلاقات داخله وكيفية تكون القيادات الاجتماعية وتحولات الولاء السياسي وتبديل الأقنعة، كما تحاول الرواية أحداث مقاربات بين المجتمعات العربية والمجتمعات الغربية وتناقضاتها وبعض من وجهها الحقيقي التي يتكشف عندما توضع على المحك، وفيها جوانب من تداخل التعليم مع العادات والتقاليد، والدين والسياسة، والوجاهة والنفاق، وصناعة الرموز، وتوظيف القبيلة والجماعة، وخداع النخب والنخب الخادعة، وصعوبة الخيار بين استبداد الداخل والتبعية للخارج
