الرواية تعكس أحداثا حقيقية عن المجتمع العراقي المعاصر لفتاة تدعى (أنوار) تضطر لبيع طفلتها ! ، وتسرد أحداث الرواية الواقع المظلم الخفي الذي ينساب من الأحياء الشعبية الضيقة ويرصد أثر التفكك الأسري على أبناء العائلة الواحدة ، حيث تجارة المخدرات ، وطبيعة الحياة داخل السجن ، وبهذا تكون الرواية بوحا للتعبير عن صوت الهامش وكشفا عن المسكوت عنه .
