الكتاب رحلة في مفهوم التصوّف ، عن طريق الابحار في شعر الشاعرين (جلال الدين الرومي) الشاعر السلجوقي الذي كان يكتب باللغة الفارسية ، اللغة الرسمية آنذاك ، والشاعر المصري(ابن الفارض) سلطان العاشقين ، ويقيم بينهما دراسة مقارنة وفق المنهج الفرنسي المقارن القائم على قضية التأثر والتأثير ضمن ثلاثة محاور مهمة .
