رواية اجتماعية رومانسية، تحكي عن قصة زين وجده. اقتباس من الرواية: فقد قرأت ذات مرة في كتاب عن الحب حينما قال الكاتب: (لقد تعاهدنا على أن نتقاتل بلا سلاح؛ فخنت أنت العهد وأتيت بعينيك) وهذا عندما كان يتحدث الكاتب عن محبوبته ويصفها، وأنا أقول الآن: (لقد تعاهدنا يا جدي على أن نتقاتل بلا سلاح؛ فخنت أنت العهد وأتيت بأخلاقك، بلطفك، بكرمك، بجمال روحك، بطيبتك، بحكمتك وفطانتك، بخفة ظلك وحبك للمزاح، بحنانك وعطفك علي، بكرمك وجودك، بحبك لي، بخوفك علي، بنصحك لي، فأنا لا أبالغ في مدحك، ولكن بالفعل إن أخذت في مدحك سنين؛ فلن أنتهي يا حبيب القلب، بارك الله فيك وحفظك لي).
