[ما الأبديُّ؟ قلت مخاطباً نفسي] ويا ضيفي... أأنت أنا كما كنا فمن منا تنصًّل من ملامحه؟، أتذكر حافر الفرس الحرون على جبينك، أم مسحت الجرح بالمكياج كي تبدو وسيم الشكل في الكاميرا؟ أأنت أنا؟ أتذكر قلبك المثقوب بالناي القديم وريشة العنقاء؟ أم غيرت قلبك عندما غيرت دربك؟ قلت: يا هذا، أنا هو أنت لكني قفزت عن الجدار لكي أرى، ماذا سيحدث لو رآني الغيب أقطب من حدائقه المعلقة البنفسج باحترام... ربما ألقى السلام، وقال لي: عد سالماً... وقفزت عن هذا الجدار لكي أرى ما لا يرى وأقيس عمق الهاوية".
