ديفيد كوامن: وُلد في شهر فبراير من عام ١٩٤٨م، وهو كاتب أمريكي في مجال العلوم والطبيعة والرحلات، وقد نال العديد من الجوائز. ألَّف كوامن خمسة عشر كتابًا منها خمسة كتب في مجال الأدب القصصي. ظل كوامن يكتب عمودًا خاصًّا لمجلة «أوتسايد» تحت عنوان «القوانين الطبيعية» على مدار خمسة عشر عامًا. كما نُشرت له مقالات متنوعة في دوريات عديدة منها «ناشيونال جيوجرافيك» و«هاربرز» و«رولينج ستون» و«نيويورك تايمز» وغيرها. يعيش كوامن في بوزمان بولاية مونتانا الأمريكية. أبدع كوامن أربع روايات وسبعة كتب واقعية من بينها «أغنية الدودو: الجغرافيا الحيوية للجزر في عصر الانقراضات» و«رحلة إجوانا» و«القوانين الطبيعية».
