يُكلَّف المهندس عبد الرحمن الإشرافَ على صيانة سدّ متصدّع. ثمّة ما ينتظره هناك ليخلخل النّمط الذي عاش فيه منذ ولادته، هو الذي لم يقطع حبل سرّته مع والدته ولا مع تعاليم المجتمع الصارمة التي ربي عليها. في ذلك الوقت، كانت دموع وفاء، زوجة عبد الرحمن، تلفت انتباه نزار لتشغله عن هاجسٍ تسبّبت فيه زوجته مروة. ينساق نزار خلف فضولٍ يُعيد إليه حلماً قديماً.
يختلط واقع عبد الرحمن بأحلام محرّمة تكشف له ما حجبته التربية النمطية عن عينيه.
شخصيات واهمة تملأ بأحلامها الباهتة حيواتها الناقصة، أحلام تحجب عنها نعيب غراب يتردّد منذراً بالخراب.
