الروائي الناجح ليس هو الذي يقبض على الحياة بنبضها وتدفقها، بالتباساتها وتعقيداتها، بل هو الروائي الذي يخلق عبر سرده وشخوصه وعالمه الفكري والدلالي إمكاناً للحياة، بما ينشئه في سرده من الشخوص والحيوات التني تتيح له أن يحيا حياة مختلفة، وبذلك يمارس حضوره داخل النص وداخل الحياة، وهذا ما ينطبق على روائي مثل "محمد قاسم الياسري" الذي استحوذ بعوالمه السحرية وشخوصه المبتكرة على عقل قارئه، حتى كاد أن ينسيه الواقع، ويفتح أمامه إمكانات غنية للتفكير والتخيل بأن حياة أخرى يمكن أن تكون معاشة على هذه الأرض. يتمظهر هذا الكلام أكثر في روايته المعنونة (حرية المضاعفة) وقد اتخذ من رحلة موظف حكومي وعالم آثار ذهب في رحلة علمية، أراد من خلالها جمع بعض المعلومات عن طبيعة الأرض وما تختزله من مجاهيل مادة يبني عليها عالمه الروائي وذلك من خلال إصراره على وجود علاقة جدلية وارتباط وثيق بين التاريخ والجغرافيا والتداخل بين الواقع والأسطورة، عبر لقطات مفاجئة تسمح للمتلقي بفك أسرار النص: "في آخر جولاتي البحثية التفقدية ... عثرت على سنام ليس له وجود في الخارطة الآثارية للمنطقة الغنية بالإحفورات والمستحاثات القديمة، والواقعية بين (تل العنترية) الأثري و (سلف العصافرة) المهجور. لم يكلفني نبش السنام الأرضي جهداً كبيراً ... عثرت على حاوية بلاستيكية حفظت بداخلها قنينة زجاجية ذات فوهة واسعة، محكمة الإغلاق، من نوع القناني التي تعبأ بها (العنبة الهندية) الأصلية من نوع (الباخرة) ، (...) لمحت في داخل الزجاجة ورقة صغيرة مطوية بعناية مما أثار فضولي فحاولت فتحها وقراءة محتويات الورقة ... إلى الشرق من هذه المنطقة ... هناك بركة صغيرة كانت في يوم ما بحيرة ضخمة تصطخب فيها الأمواج، تعيش داخلها وحوش مفترسة ارتكبت من آثام وجرائم بحق الإنسانية، تقشعر لها الأبدان وتصطك من هولها الأسنان فحلت عليها اللعنة الأبدية ...". ومن هنا تبدأ الحكاية ...
