الرواية ليست مجرد سرد للأحداث، بل غوص في الأفكار والهواجس والأسئلة الوجودية:
هل الذكريات حقيقة أم مجرد صور يعيد العقل تشكيلها؟
هل الذنب وهم أم حقيقة نعيشها؟
وهل يمكن للإنسان أن يفهم نفسه حقًا؟
