• كاتبة وناقدة أدبية. نالت دكتوراه في الدراسات الاسلامية من جامعة السوربون ـ باريس. وعملت في حقل التربية والتعليم الجامعي.
• حاضرت في عدد من الجامعات (تونس، اليمن، باريس) وشاركت في مؤتمرات وندوات أدبية وفكرية في أكثر من بلد عربي وغربي.
• نالت جائزة مؤسسة العويس الثقافية لعام 1992-1993، في "حقل الأبحاث الأدبيّة والنقديّة". كما حصلت على عدد من الشهادات والدروع التقديريّة.
• كتبت المقالة والدراسة لأكثر من صحيفة ومجلة لبنانية وعربية، وكان لها مواقف وآراء في السجال الذي دار، زمن الحرب اللبنانية، حول علاقة الأدب بالسياسة.
• عضو فاعل وعضو استشاري في أكثر من مؤسسة ومجلة ثقافية أدبية عربية.
• عضو ورئيسة لأكثر من لجنة تحكيم آخرها جائزة البوكر للرواية العربية.
• تركز بحثها مؤخراً حول العلاقة بين المرجع الحي وروائية الرواية العربية.
