هل يعني النُّضُوج أن تنْخرِط في دوَّامة الحياة؟ هل هو مَظْهَر مُحدَّد يجب التقيُّد به؟ مظهر رجل وجد عملًا ومالًا وفتاة، وتوسَّعت حياتُه لِيصبح جزءًا من عالم أكبر؛ عالم تحكمه العلاقات المُنمَّقة والمصالح المُشترَكة، وتجاهل القلب الذي لن يهدأ حتى يجد ضالَّته، ولن يسكن حتى يجد صاحبُه السبيل. هكذا تسير حياة الشاب «مكسيم» الذي غادر بلدته الفرنسية الصغيرة «إفريه» إلى عاصمة الأنوار والإبهار «باريس»؛ تاركًا خلفه البساطة التي اعتادها لِينْخرِط في عالم البارونات وذوي النفوذ والصِّيت، فتُدْخِله أولى نَزَوات قلبه في حياةٍ أكثرَ تعقيدًا، حين يربطه طفلٌ صغير بتلك النزوة الأولى، قبل أن يقع في حبٍّ أكثرَ صدقًا يحتلُّ قلبَه بالفعل، وبين واقعه وآماله، تتسارع الأحداث في عام واحد، سيغير حياة هذا الشاب إلى الأبد.
