تطرح الرواية سؤالاً حول الهوية، أو بمعنى أدق: ضياع الهوية ورحلة البحث عن الجذور، من خلال لغة تفيض وتلهو، تنسج دوالها ثم تفكك ما شيدته، تقوم على تباديل الجمل وتوافقاتها وكأنه يخلق أسطورتها الخاصة غير المعتادة، بل ويقدم للغة وفنياتها "فقه جديد" يتسق مع البطل متعدد المستويات، الباحث عن جذوره فى تراجيديا شديدة التعقيد، راسماً صورة لأزمة الإنسان المنسحق المهزوم الذى استمرا تبعيته فى مدن حمراء ذات سلطة ظالمة، أسقفها خرسانية، لا تتيح مساحات من الحرية.
