وقد حاول المؤلفان، في إيجاز بلغ الغاية المنشودة، أن يتوغلا في شعر أبي شبكة، بوجه عام، ويبرزا الخطوط الكبرى التي ربطت شاعر "غلواء" بالمذهب الرومنسي. وذلك بلمحات تحليلية، موجزة في بعضها، ومسهبة في البعض الآخر، تفتح أمام الطالب باب البحث وتمهَد له طريق الولوج إلى عالم "الياس" الشّعري.
