"الوصية" العمل الروائي الأول للكاتبة "سمية محمد علي الغسرة" تدور أحداثه في قرية بني جمرة بالبحرين، موطن الكاتبة الأصلي. تتحدث الرواية عن وصية أب لأبناءه قبل مماته، وعنها تقول القاصة سمية الغسرة "لقد حدثني رحمه الله يوماً بأنه أخبرها بشأن وصية أوصى بها دون أن يذكر محتواها لها وذكر مستغرباً من عدم فضولها أنها لم تسأل عن محتواها حتى أنها ذكرت له فقط بأنها واثقة من حسن تدبيره وقد جمعت من جهتي (وتقصد الأب الذي أوصى) بتوثيق الوصية في المحكمة لإضفاء الشرعية القانونية عليها حفاظاً على حقوق الموصي لهم وهي خطوة حديثة اتبعها الكثيرون بعد أن فرضتها الدولة لضمان الحقوق".
تطالعنا الرواية بالمولود المنتظر (لقد ولد سليمان الصغير) بعد فترة انتظار دامت ثماني سنوات، والفرح يعم العائلة، إلا "عفيفة" سقطت مغشية عليها في غرفتها التي شهدت عليها الكثير من المكائد للحؤول دون ولاية الصغير.. "... نظرت إليه بتمعن بعد أن أزاحت تلك الأقمشة المتدلية عليه... تمعنت فيه أكثر فأكثر شبيه من هو يا ترى؟ شعرت بالحنق والضيق منه ومدت يديها إلى ناحية عنقه الصغيرة لخنقه بهدوء في غفلة من الجميع...؟".
تقول الرواية! إشكالية الخير والشر، الحب والكراهية، فمن سينتصر في النهاية...؟
