تدور أحداث الرواية نحو سالم الشاب الجامعى المتدين الذى يدرس بكلية التربية قسم علم النفس والذى تتوفى خطيبته لعد ذلك ويصاب بأزمة نفسية حادة لا يشعر بها إلا عن طريق أفعاله غير الشعورية ثم تجد بعد ذلك دخوله المدرسة بدور المعلم وما يحدث له هناك من تغير تام فى الشخصية وعلاقاته هناك بالاضافة الى علاقاته مع صديقه معاذ معالج الجن وسعد الممسوس اللذان يحاولان علاجه وتستمر الاحداث بين سالم وبين بطلات الرواية ال5 فى دوره كمدرس معهن ثم توصله إلى لعبته الخفية التى تقلب الموازين وتخدع جميع من حوله .
