لا تحتاج هذه الصفحات للتوطئة، بعد أن تكرم دولة الرئيس فؤاد السنيورة، الصديق العزيز ورجل الدولة الشجاع والرصين بوضع مقدمته إكليلا لها، وكذلك فعل عميد نقباء المحامين في لبنان معالي الاستاذ عصام الخوري الذي أسكنني النور بشهادته الراقية وعاطفته الصادقة، ناهيكم عن أسطر قليلة تزين غلاف الكتاب، إذا ما غُمِسَتْ في النفس أَتْرَعَتْها وفاضت عن القراءة إلى مسارب الصفاء الروحي، عنيت ما حباني به سعادة نقيب المحامين في طرابلس الأخ ميشال خوري، إذ لا مزيد بعد هذا لمستزيد...
ولكنه الشَره، أو إذا شئتم الشغف الذي يشّدني إلى ما أكتب قبل أن ينفصل عني، ولهذا رأيتُ أن أشير إلى أنني عندما قسَّمت هذه الكتابات إلى فصول، شعرت أنني أتعسف بتقسيم نفسي المتداخلة، إذ لا ينزف من قلمي سطر مستقل عن غيره من الأسطر، وإن بعد الزمان بينها أو اختلفت الموضوعات أو حتى لو تناقضت الأفكار، ذلك أن سِلْكاً خفياً ينظم كهرباءها بعد أن يستمدَّ من الدواة طاقته لتوليد الضوء.
كان الفنان العظيم رضوان الشهال الشاعر والرسام، ينحت لوحاته بواسطة أداة دقيقة ينقب به طبقات أوراقه المتدرجة من السواد الحالك إلى البياض الناصع، مروراً بأنواع الرمادي، (grattage)، فلمّا سألتُه عن سبب اتباعه هذه الوسيلة المرهقة، فيما وسائل الرسم الأخرى أكثر يسراً، أجابني بما لست أنساه: "غيري يرسم بالحبر، وأنا أرسم بالضوء"... لهذا، استميحه واستميحكم عذراً إذا اسْتَعَرْتُ مَقولتَه ونَسَبْتُ هذا الكتاب إلى عنوانه....
