اقتباس من مقدمة الكتاب:
لألفية ابن مالك شروح كثيرة ، أحسنها وأوفاها كتاب " المقاصد الشافية " ( 1 ) لأبي إسحاق الشاطبي ، المتوفى سنة ( 790 هـ ) .ومشاركتي في شرحها مشاركةُ من يدرك أن الناس لا يصبرون على طعام واحد ، وأن لطالب العلم نهمةً لا يشبعها شيء ، وحصرت في شرحي أن أتوخى الإيجاز ، والإيضاح ، والتيسير ، بعبارات سهلة ، وأمثلة واضحة ، وعدم الإكثار من إيراد الشواهد الشعرية ، لاسيَّما في المسائل المشهورة ، لأن الأولى في إفادة دارس علمٍ كعلمِ النحو – عند إرادة التيسير والتقريب – أن يُقدَّم له بيُسرٍ وسهولةٍ لبلوغ الغاية بطريق مختصر .. و شَغْلُهُ بغريب الشواهد من الشعر قضية أخرى تشغل ذهنه وجهده مرتين ، لأنها تحتاج إلى شرح وإفهام.ولم أثقله بحواشٍ ولا نقل ، لأنني كتبته على ما استقر معناه لديَّ أيَّامِ الطلب وزمان شرحي للطلاب ، فإذا أدرتُّ التثبت في شيء ، أو احتجت إلى وزن غريب أو مثال نادر رجعت إلى قراءة شرحٍ من الشروح المشهورة.
