إن الحديث عن البلاء من الأحاديث المهمة التي تجذب اهتمام الناس لكونه يمس مشاعر وآلام كل الناس في كل مكان وزمان مهما علت درجتهم ، ابتداء من الأنبياء وانتهاء بالأطفال، فإذا كان من بين الناس من لا يعيش فترة بلاء حالية فهذا لا يعني أنه لم يعرف البلاء في حياته أبداً ، لأن هذا أمر مستحيل أن يحدث، فمقاساة المكاره والآلام أمر ملازم لهذه الدنيا لا ينجو منه أحد ، مؤمناً كان أم كافراً .
وهنا قد يتساءل البعض : لماذا خلق الله عز وجل البلاء ؟ ولماذا لا يعيش الإنسان على الأرض بهناء دون متاعب وآلام ، فيكون الجميع متساوين في العطاء والنعم ويتمتعون بالخيرات دون آلام وأحزان؟
إن مما يخيف في هذه التساؤلات هو قدرتها على توصيل المفكِّر بها إلى الكفر ، والعياذ بالله عز وجل ، وذلك في حال اعتقد أن الله عز وجل بحرمانه الناس من النعم يظلمهمٍ ويجورٍ عليهم ، أو أنه ، والعياذ بالله ، غير عادل بتمييزه في العطاء بين الناس .
للإجابة عن كل هذه التساؤلات جاء هذا الكتيب ليوضح مفهوم الفتنة والابتلاء وفق الرؤية الشرعية الإسلامية القائمة على قول الله عز وجل : [ونبلوكم بالشرّ والخير فتنة ] .
